Temple Run 3 has been quitely Delisted from app stores
Did you know this game existed?

The third installment in Imangi's endless runner franchise has quietly been delisted from app stores after a lengthy soft launch period. When was it delisted exactly? Nobody knows! There is no coverage of this story as far as I can tell (well, until now...). The game originally entered soft launch in late October 2025 and was available in eight countries.
But wait... what am I even talking about?
Most of you probably weren't even aware that this game exists in the first place, so let's break down what this one is all about.
First of all, it's in a 3-lane format like Subway Surfers, completely dropping the side-to-side tilt controls movement. While some may argue that this strips the game of the series' identity - and you're probably right - I don't necessarily mind this change, as Temple Run Legends on Apple Arcade has the same gameplay style, and it works great. Though to clarify even further: three lanes are the maximum amount. The level design randomizer thing will sometimes squeeze you into a single lane or mix up the elevation.

Second, the thing that brings this threequel down in my opinion is the presentation - graphically, it's kind of like the OG game all over again, with its wonderful puke-green colors all over the place. At least the OG had more of an excuse to look boring, being the first of its kind and all, but this doesn't fit a 2025 release in the slightest (really, no changing environments?). With Temple Run Legends, we already saw what a modern Temple Run game can look like, so this is just a massive downgrade.
Third, throughout your runs you'll come across the Golden Idol. Running into it pauses the action and lets you select one of three different perks that last until you die. Think Archero - this is basically the same system.

Beyond those three changes, there isn't much else worth mentioning. The menus are predictably different, you can upgrade pets for additional perks or change your character to take advantage of different abilities, and that's basically Temple Run 3 in a nutshell.

So, what's gonna happen next?
It's impossible to say. Imangi could either be going back to the drawing board for a future relaunch, or the game has already been canceled and we have no idea. I asked the studio for comment - I'll update the article if I get any clarification, but for now the fate of the game is a mystery.
