Dispatch gets surprise Mobile Port for its anniversary

Yay, another port!

Screemshot from Dispatch mobile trailer

The mobile port for Dispatch has just been announced to celebrate the game's one year anniversary, along with other surprises for fans, such as:

  • Tons of merch
  • Live concert in Los Angeles
  • Big update for Deluxe Edition owners

If you don't know, Dispatch is an episodic adventure game described as a "superhero workplace comedy", where you take the role of Robert Robertson III, formerly the superhero Mecha Man, who has to take a job as a dispatcher for villains-turned-superheroes after his mecha suit is destroyed in battle.

Originally released on October 22, 2025, it was greatly received - 5 million players in its first year, 97% positive reviews on Steam, 87 out of 100 points on Metacritic.

The game will be available starting December 9 for both Android and iOS. The first 4 episodes, aka half the story, will be playable for free, with the rest of the game locked behind a one-time $19.99 purchase.

According to the developers, the game was rebuilt for touch controls in portrait mode - a very bold decision for a game made to be played horizontally, with a ton of equally horizontal cutscenes (seriously, how does this even work?). So far I've been unable to find any portrait mode gameplay, with Play Store screenshots showing landscape gameplay instead, so I'm beyond confused.

Nonetheless, a mobile port of a high quality game is always greatly appreciated. An episodic adventure like this is also a solid fit for mobile - it's basically perfect for touchscreen gameplay, and with low system requirements it should be playable on most devices.
