Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

1. Who We Are

Mobile Games Network (MGN) operates the website available at mobilegames.network (the "Website").

Website operator: Bartosz Selwa
Country of establishment: Poland
Contact email: contact@mobilegames.network

For questions about this Privacy Policy, personal data processed through the Website, or requests concerning your personal data, contact us at the email address above.

2. Information We Collect

We aim to minimise the personal data processed through the Website. Readers do not need to create an account, subscribe to a newsletter, or submit comments to use the Website.

2.1 Server and Error Logs

The Website is hosted on a server provided by Hetzner.

When you visit the Website, your browser sends an IP address as part of the connection required to deliver the requested page. Successful visits are not recorded in a server access log.

When a request fails, the server's error log may record information including your IP address, browser information, and the requested URL. These records are retained until the relevant log rotates. We do not specify a fixed retention period for these logs.

Error logs are used for technical troubleshooting, diagnosing failures, and maintaining the Website.

2.2 Search Queries

Search text entered into the Website's search function is not saved in the Website's database.

2.3 Article View Counting

If you accept cookies and open an article, the Website may count that article view using a cookie named mgn_read.

This cookie contains a randomly generated identifier. When a view is counted, the Website stores the following information in its database:

  • A hash of the identifier.
  • The article associated with the view.
  • The date of the view, based on the Warsaw calendar date.
  • A running total of counted views for the article.

The raw identifier and your IP address are not stored in the article-view records. The hash is deleted after two days.

This system is designed to count a browser only once per article per Warsaw calendar day. It is not intended to identify individual readers, and article-view totals cannot be linked back to a particular person using the stored article-view records.

2.4 Cookie Preferences

When you choose Accept or Reject in the cookie banner, the Website stores your choice in your browser using the mgn_consent cookie.

The cookie contains either yes or no and lasts for 180 days. It allows the Website to remember your choice and keep the banner closed.

Your choice is stored in your browser and is not copied into the Website's database.

2.5 Administrative Access

The Website has an administrative area available at /admin. It is intended for authorised staff and is not an account system offered to readers.

When staff sign in, the Website uses a login cookie and creates a session record in the database with an expiry. The administrative interface also loads a font from Google.

These administrative features are separate from the cookies and features available to ordinary readers.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Website uses a limited number of cookies for remembering preferences, counting article views, and authenticating authorised staff.

The mgn_consent and mgn_read cookies are described in our Cookie Policy. Administrative login cookies are used only in the administrative area.

The Website does not use an advertising cookie, an analytics product, or a cookie from a measurement company.

If you reject cookies through the banner, the Website does not count article views using mgn_read. If that cookie already exists, choosing Reject deletes it.

If you close the cookie banner without choosing Accept or Reject, neither mgn_consent nor mgn_read is set, and article views are not counted.

For further information, including cookie lifetimes and purposes, see our Cookie Policy.

4. Third-Party Services

Some Website features rely on external providers. Their processing of information may be governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

4.1 Website Hosting

The Website is hosted on infrastructure provided by Hetzner. Technical information, including IP addresses associated with failed requests, may be processed as described in Section 2.1.

4.2 Email

Messages sent to contact@mobilegames.network are received through Migadu, operated by Migadu-Mail GmbH in Switzerland.

The Website's database does not keep a copy of these emails. Messages may remain in the email service's mailbox, depending on how they are handled and deleted.

If you contact us about your personal data, we may need to inspect the relevant mailbox to locate and respond to your request.

4.3 Sponsorship Form

Our sponsorship form is provided by Tally and is available at tally.so/r/VL7pEJ.

Information submitted through the form is stored by Tally BV in Belgium. Responses can be exported or deleted through the associated Tally account.

The information you submit may include personal or business contact details and information about a proposed sponsorship or partnership.

4.4 Online Shop

The MGN merchandise shop is hosted by Fourthwall and is available at mobile-games-network-shop.fourthwall.com.

The shop is a separate service operated by Fourthwall, Inc. in the United States. Purchases made through the shop are handled by Fourthwall, including its checkout process.

Information submitted during a purchase is handled under the applicable terms and privacy policy of Fourthwall and any other providers involved in the transaction.

4.5 YouTube Embeds

Articles may contain embedded YouTube videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced player.

When an embedded player is present on a page, your browser contacts Google in connection with that player. Google may process technical information associated with the connection in accordance with its applicable policies.

For more information, consult Google's Privacy Policy.

4.6 X and Threads Embeds

The Website can display X and Threads post cards. The post information is fetched by the Website's server rather than directly by the reader's browser.

The browser contacts X or Threads when you open a post through the relevant platform or interact with its available features, subject to the destination service's own behaviour.

4.7 External Links and Sharing

The Website contains links to external websites, including game publishers, social networks, retailers, and other services.

These links generally do not contact the destination website through your browser until you click them. Examples include channel icons, retailer links on hardware pages and affiliate links.

The Website also provides sharing options for X, Threads, Facebook, Bluesky, and Reddit. Using a sharing option may send information to the selected platform.

The Copy Link feature copies a link on your device without sending it to an external service.

Once you visit an external website or interact with an external service, its own privacy policy and practices apply.

5. How We Use Personal Data

Depending on the feature involved, information is processed for the following purposes:

  • Delivering Website pages and other requested content.
  • Diagnosing technical errors and maintaining the Website.
  • Counting article views in an aggregated form when the required cookie consent has been given.
  • Remembering your cookie preference.
  • Authenticating authorised staff and managing administrative sessions.
  • Receiving and responding to enquiries sent by email.
  • Handling sponsorship enquiries submitted through Tally.

We do not use the Website's article-view counting system to identify individual readers.

6. Legal Basis for Processing

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, personal data must be processed on an appropriate legal basis under applicable data protection law.

Depending on the processing activity and circumstances, the relevant basis may include:

  • Legitimate interests: for necessary technical operations, diagnosing server errors, maintaining security, and responding to technical problems, where our interests do not override your rights and freedoms.
  • Consent: where required for the use of cookies or similar technologies, including the optional article-view counting feature.
  • Contract or pre-contractual steps: where applicable to a requested service or a sponsorship or business enquiry.
  • Legal obligation: where processing is necessary to comply with an applicable legal requirement.

The applicable legal basis depends on the particular processing activity and the circumstances. This section should be reviewed against the operator's establishment, the Website's actual implementation, and the laws that apply before publication.

7. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose, subject to applicable legal obligations.

The retention periods and arrangements currently applicable to the Website include:

  • Server error logs: retained until the relevant log rotates. No fixed number of days is specified.
  • Article-view identifier hashes: deleted after two days.
  • Article-view totals: retained as running totals associated with individual articles. These totals cannot be linked back to an individual reader through the stored article-view records.
  • Cookie preferences: the mgn_consent cookie lasts for 180 days.
  • Article-view identifiers: the mgn_read cookie lasts for 400 days unless removed earlier.
  • Administrative sessions: session records have an expiry.
  • Emails and sponsorship submissions: retained or deleted through the respective email and form services, subject to their applicable settings and practices.

The expiration of a cookie does not necessarily mean that information previously processed by a third-party service is also deleted.

8. Your Data Protection Rights

Where applicable data protection law grants you rights concerning your personal data, you may be entitled to:

  • Request access to your personal data.
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Request deletion of personal data.
  • Request restriction of processing.
  • Object to certain processing activities.
  • Request data portability where the relevant legal conditions are met.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.

These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exceptions.

You can submit a request by emailing contact@mobilegames.network. We may need additional information to establish which records relate to your request.

To respond, we can check the relevant email mailbox, Tally sponsorship responses, and available server error logs. Article-view totals cannot be traced back to a particular person using the stored article-view records.

We will handle requests in accordance with the applicable legal requirements and response deadlines.

9. International Data Transfers

Some of the services used by the Website are operated in different countries, including Switzerland, Belgium, and the United States.

Depending on the service and the processing involved, personal data may be processed or transferred outside your country of residence or the European Economic Area.

Where applicable data protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, the relevant service and transfer arrangements must satisfy those requirements.

For further information about a particular provider's processing and transfer arrangements, consult its privacy policy and applicable documentation.

10. Children's Privacy

The Website is not specifically directed at children, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal data from children under the age of 16.

If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child in circumstances where the required consent or other legal basis is absent, we will take appropriate steps to address the situation, including deleting the data where required by law.

This does not prevent technical information from being processed when someone visits the Website, as described in this Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Website's features, data processing practices, service providers, or applicable legal requirements change.

The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated. We encourage readers to review it periodically.
