Minion Rush is already back from the dead before it even died

Well that didn't take long

For those who missed it, the shut down of Minion Rush was recently announced - the game will be delisted from app stores on October 30, and online servers will be terminated on January 29, 2027.

Minion Rush was an endless runner with a Minions skin, developed by Gameloft and initially released on June 13, 2013. It was one of the classic mobile gaming that people love to get nostalgic for, so it's obvious why a shut down announcement wouldn't be met with very positive reception.

But as usual with any popular mobile game nowadays, people are already working on preserving it for generations to come. Recently, Revival Team launched a private, non-profit server to keep the game alive. The original game hasn't even shut down yet (as of writing - 5 days remain)! Though keep in mind that this project is exclusive to Android.

Here are more details on this revival:

  • All ads removed
  • No Google Play Services needed
  • Everything that cost real money can now be bought with in-game G Coins
  • Events keep rotating forever: World Tour, Tournaments, Daily Bonus, Adventure Run and more
  • Every new player starts with 50,000 G Coins and Tokens, 500 Silver Keys, Golden Keys and energy for each gadget, plus 2,000 of each collection sticker + puzzle pieces
  • 32-bit and 64-bit devices supported

If you want to go down "memory lane" (again the game isn't dead yet), join the Revival Team Discord server and navigate to the #minion-rush-announcement channel.
