Galaxy Kart is free on Epic Games Store this week, and wow it's not good
You don't have to pay $20 but I'm not sure it's worth it either way

BAD
Reviewed version 2.10.3
Probably the worst kart racer I've ever played, gives off big Wii shovelware vibes - kind of the only thing it's got going for itself I guess
Positive points
- It's playable
Negative points
- Buggy
- Gameplay's a mess
- No reason to play
Usually Epic Games Store mobile freebies boil down to the occasional cool, new games or games that are already free on Google Play Pass, but sometimes you get a game like Galaxy Kart. When I first saw it, I thought it actually looked quite impressive and fun. There aren't too many good kart racers on mobile, so I thought I'd give this a crack. I can confidently say that there still aren't many good kart racers on mobile.
I might as well also turn this article into a short review, maybe this will be the world's only written review of the mobile port of Galaxy Kart (this is originally a VR game). For the record I only played the game for 10 minutes so my experience with the game is very limited but I think I got the gist of it.
- Controller support: Seems to work only in the menus for some reason, touchscreen was my only option during actual gameplay
- Gameplay: Too fast. Maybe the game wants you to use the braking feature more, but that's just not fun - who the hell wants to slow down in a kart racer? I kept falling off the track because I kept randomly going super fast for what felt like no reason at all. Outside of that, there's nothing here that's meant to keep you playing - no interesting modes, achievements or missions
- Glitches: All over the place! Somehow within those 10 minutes I managed to clip through the floor, landing in a lower part of the track and also last place. I also got launched to the side of a building twice, getting stuck up there for a couple of seconds.
- Characters: They're fine. Each one also has a special unique ability which is neat. Though one thing I really don't like is that they keep spamming generic voicelines.
- Graphics: Looked better in the trailer to be honest.
- Performance: This might've been partially (or entirely) caused by my room being incredibly hot, but my phone was overheating quite a fair bit and the game was quite laggy at times.
- User interface: Looks cheap, that's about it.
Overall, not really that fun!
